Best DNS Registrar?

I've been through 3 domain name registrars and haven't really liked any of them, I've tried godaddy, enom, and gandi respectively. Though godaddy was a long time ago and I'd be willing to give them another shot given the right feedback.

I actually looked around for a few minutes thinking it would be a sinch to find a new one, but I always found some reason not to go with them. So I made a list and it turns out I have quite a few factors that influence my choice for a DNS registrar.

1. NS Glue Records / Delegation (Use own DNS servers)
2. Registration Price
3. Reseller Program / API
4. Restore Fee (different from registration fee) - Verisign .com/.net fee is $40, anything over $100 is ridiculous, but this seems to be the norm. (http://www.verisign.com/Resources/Naming_Services_Resources/Registrar_Co...)
5. IPv6 Glue Records
6. Support - I always seem to be emailing registrar support, helps if they have someone who can type and understand english.
7. Not going to fail ala RegistryFly
8. Not going to be a tool and shut down the domain because of random C&D letter ala GoDaddy (http://domainnamewire.com/2007/01/26/godaddy-faces-pr-nightmare-over-dom...)
9. Server Latency
10. Registrar DNS Server Implementation (Bind/PowerDNS/Linux/Windows/etc)

Could Matter, But Don't Care Factors
- Record types supported (with delegation can do anything and that is a deal breaker)
- Bundles and offerings of other services like hosting
- TLDs offered for registration (.be, .fr, .us, etc), just need .net and .com

Anyone know of a registrar that is adequate in all/most/some of these factors or am I simply far too picky?

Re: Best DNS Registrar?

I have always used godaddy myself.  While they aren't always the cheapest, they have been around forever.  I had some domains with registryfly when they folded, and it was a major headache.

One thing godaddy has going for them is that if you buy domains from them often they send all kinds of coupon codes to you.

One current code is gdp0505s (that is NOT an affiliate code) expires 5/25/08 it saves you 33% of as many .nets as you want.  Enter it at checkout and the discount is applied.

I wouldn't recommend hosting with godaddy though, but thats another story.
