Musicians in the 21st century

It seems like some bands are embracing the Internet for their music. This band is putting out their entire album as a BitTorrent in both MP3 and OGG format as well as a direct download of the MP3 format. It'll be interesting to see how well this band does and, if they do well, if other bands take the new track (I hear Grateful Dead like to release their albums for downloadas well).

SMGL mention

Yeah, my distro got mentioned in a magazine. ;) Some of the information is correct, but the URL and name are fine.

Neil Diamond concert

So I just got back from a Neil Diamond concert. The concert was great, with a few songs I didn't like, but you can't please everyone. ;) Anyways, I found out two things.

  1. Neil Diamond wrote the "I'm a believer" that the Monkee's sang (and the 'theme' for Shrek)
  2. Neil Diamond has a sense of humour

Also, Neil Diamond + sense of humour = rap. Yes, Rap. Neild Diamond, rap. It was hilarious. :) Anyway, it's after midnight and I'm tired and need to work in the morning.

Better networking

Looks like Red Hat is working on better networking support with Network Manager.

Blizzard hates Linux?

Well, yet again a patch from Blizzard has screwed over my World of Warcraft experience (using Linux, of course). I made a poll here http://transgaming.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=22438. The sharp ones out there may notice my opinion shows in the poll. I have yet to have a patch that doesn't, in some fundamental way, break the playability of WoW in Linux. It's not like writing a game is rocket science. Never Winter Nights (from BioWare) had bugs, yes, but nothing as annoying as what Blizzard puts out (IIRC) /and/ it ran in Linux, natively.

If only Blizzard would die and BioWare would take over
