Linux can do some cool s**t

For those of you who do not think that Linux can do anything cool, much less play video games, I have some words for you: Quake 3 running at 10240x3072 resolution at 15-30 FPS. Yes, the resolution is, indeed, 10,240x3,072. Any game that runs in Linux can do this (most likely games that run through WINE or Cedega as well (such as World of Warcraft.

Generic init system

So one of my developers (the ISO Team Lead, David Kowis) is thinking of revamping our init system (currently simpleinit-msb) to use metadata to define how the init script should work and then we have a 'library' that builds a specific init script (here is a list of currently planned init systems) based on that information. In this way the user/system administrator decides which init system to use (since some people prefer Sys V).
