I may have discovered a way to defeat the new "phone home" feature of Acrobat 7.0 but I won't know for sure until I have a phone-home document and can verify that Acrobat doesn't crash when trying to do its dirty deed and that it's actually disabled.
If you have such a document, please post a link here in a comment or mail a copy to me.
Thanks!

I suppose I should detail the possible cures I've found . . . .
The significant differences between US and Japanese cultures lead to differences in testing capabilities. US culture encourages people to emphasize their uniqueness, their differences from each other, and to develop a strong "I am what I am" mentality. This makes novelty and challenge two core cultural values that, in turn, encourage software engineers to design ambitious products. Most of these may not meet market demands, but a few pieces of exceptional software will become the backbone of the next generation of technology. A generous social atmosphere fuels the budget for such challenges, and investors can usually expect a handsome return for their high risk.
Just don't commit the 'crime' of wearing a Democrat T-shirt like this guy did
Here's a nifty article that Eric showed me earlier today. THE INTERNET DEBACLE - AN ALTERNATIVE VIEW. It's posted on the Baen Free Library and is a good read about music piracy from the artist's point of view.
Remember when we told you that proprietary software gives the software makers (Microsoft, et al) excessive power over groups, such as competing businesses or foreign companies? We said that nothing was stopping them from writing in backdoors or inserting data corruption at their own discretion. We said that Microsoft could sabotage a company such as Netscape by simply hiding pseudo-random errors in the code that would activate if the company string matched their target list. We said that Microsoft is in a position to sell information on foreign countries to the US government by building in backdoors.
