Command line tips

I don't have time this morning for more than just a quick plug. This URL was mentioned in an IRC channel last night and I thought it was useful enough to share.

Mail server up and running.

So the mail servers are up and running. I only allow SMTP w/ TLS and IMAPS. Plain text passwords are like walking around with your pants down and I didn't see any reason to enable POP3.

Note: This means that anyone who's registered for the site in the last few weeks and never received a welcome email should request a new password now. Sorry for the trouble!

Anyone with a shell account should have email access. We're still resolving a few issues that might cause mails to be blocked by spam filters, but other than that it's completely functional.

Settings:
[table | Protocol | Server Address | Port | Authentication
Outgoing Mail: | SMTP w/ SSL | lug.wsu.edu | 25 | Use TLS |
Incoming Mail: | IMAPS | lug.wsu.edu | 993 | Use SSL]

Subversion Handbook

I keep sending this book to people, so I might as well just post it.

I'm such a smart guy. Yeah, I posted this exact file 2 years ago. http://lug.wsu.edu/node/100

Got an Acer computer? If so, unless you've reinstalled the OS you'll be happy to know that any website you visit has the capability of running any code they like on your computer.
